Well, it has been 11 months since I last blogged. I haven't posted anything because it has been a very insignificant year and not much has happened. LIE!
It has been a year full of excitement, new things, new places, hardships, loss and most importantly, growth. If there is anyone out there reading this… you may have noticed that the name of the blog changed to “Love Grows”. This is exactly what we have experienced over the past year. In effort to keep this post from turning into a novel, I think a bullet list will do. Here is what has been going on…
-We moved home!!!! Kerry and I are again residents of the beautiful state of Utah. We have been back since April and we are so glad that I was able to keep my wonderful job and move to the Utah project. Kerry got his job back at Galaxie Lighting too. Life is good.
-This next bullet is possible because of the awesome company I work for mentioned above. In May we got to go somewhere new for vacation. My company hosts an Annual General Meeting each year in which they take us all (including family) to some amazing place for a weekend full of fun! This year was Marco Island, Florida. It was breathtaking. We did lots of fun things and got to see all of our friends from Arkansas and other projects around the country. We also got to ride Jet Skis on the ocean through the land of 1000 Islands and best of all, we saw dolphins! The whole experience was amazing and we are looking forward to San Antonio, Texas next year!
-Who ever said that marriage is tough… didn’t marry Kerry Jorgensen. I am so lucky that he is my husband. On June 6th we celebrated our one year anniversary. It has truly been the best year ever and in all honesty there is absolutely nothing I would change about our relationship. Some people might say we are lame for staying in and going to bed at 10:00 on a Friday night. Others might say that we are not the people we used to be. I say our life is perfect and we are lucky that we found each other. Now we know what it is like to be content and happy, and that my friend is all we need.
-WE ARE HOMEOWNERS! Oh my goodness, buying a house is a process. When we found out we were moving home, we immediately began looking for the place we wanted to call home. After months of looking we finally found the house we both fell in love with. We started the process and made an offer. I won’t go into the details of the whole experience, but I will say we almost ended up in court when the Sellers decided they no longer wanted to sell TWO DAYS BEFORE CLOSING! It was not fun, but in the end everything worked out. Thanks to our awesome realtor (and one of my best friends), Kayleen, we closed on June 28th and spent our first night in our very own home on August 27th. We absolutely love the house and we also scored some awesome neighbors who are already some of our best friends!
-I threw Kerry a surprise party for his 30th birthday in August. Yep, I typed that right… the big 3-0. While he was out golfing, tons of our friends and family helped me pull of the surprise. The party was complete with 1980 themed costumes, music, games, food and most importantly, a totally surprised guest of honor. Pictures will be posted soon.
-October was full of surprises. Some good. Some devastating. First off we found out that Kerry has a lung disease called Sarcoidosis. It all started about 2 years ago when he got a bump on his forehead. He had seen a few doctors but they each assured him that there was probably nothing to worry about and there was nothing they could do for him. When we got back to Utah he went to see his family doctor who he finally convinced to remove the bump. When the results came back we were told that Kerry had Tuberculosis. That’s right, I said TUBERCULOSIS! Scary, but two doctors later we found out that was not true. In September he had a lung biopsy done and we finally had a diagnosis. Sarcoidosis is a disease that has been around for quite a while but there is little known about it. It causes scaring in the lungs and can make it hard to breath. For now, Kerry is taking steroids that seem to affect him more than the disease itself does. The doctor assures us that things are going to be ok, so that is good. I know… long bullet so I will move on.
-October part 2. One of the best days of my life was October 2nd. Before I tell you why it was such a great day, I need to tell you the outcome. Believe me, it is better this way because the heartbreak was hard to handle and I don’t want you to get your hopes up and experience the let down. So… here goes… I had a miscarriage. I was about 10 weeks pregnant when we went in for an ultrasound and found out the baby did not have a heartbeat. I know that this is very common and we are really trying to be positive but this was the hardest thing we have ever had to go through. Two weeks before the ultrasound we actually had our first ultrasound at which we saw the baby. We could see the little heartbeat flicker on the monitor. The doctor told us that after seeing that it was very uncommon to miscarry. I did some research and found out that our chances of carrying out the pregnancy were in fact 90%. Sounds like a lot, but unfortunately that 10% still happens. We know that this happens for a reason and we know it is better this way if things were not coming together right. We certainly did not want to baby to have to suffer and we are finding peace knowing that god has a plan for us and it just wasn’t quite time for us to have a baby.
-Here goes my attempt at moving on to the next subject. That is always hard. Don’t worry, this one is back to good news. I got a promotion at work! I am now a team lead. I am hoping this means that I am going to get to stay on the Utah project for a little bit… but only time will tell.
-Just in case you didn’t know, Thanksgiving is coming up. Then Christmas. I love this season. It is just a magical time. Last year we started something new with most or our family, which is no gift giving. That was absolutely the best thing ever and we are making it tradition. The holidays are supposed to be about family, friends and good times, not expensive gifts and going into debt. I have always been uneasy about accepting gifts from people and it makes me sad that everyone feels the need to buy things that can’t afford. Instead we have decided to spend more time together, which is much more important and brings back the true spirit of Christmas. I highly recommend this to everyone.

One full year down... 89 days to go!
Yea, the count down is on!! That's right, Kerry and I are moving HOME!! :) We are so excited. March 31st is going to be my last day at work and then we should be on the road again, headed for beautiful Utah. Living in Arkansas has been quite the experience. The culture here is very different from home and being away from family and friends has been harder than we could have imaged.
Don't get me wrong... we DO NOT regret moving out here! We have grown so much... not only as people, but as a couple. When we leave, the first 9 1/2 months of marriage will have been here in Arkansas. What a better way to build our relationship and love than to have only each other to depend on. Also, we have learned so much about ourselves and the things that are important to us. We know now that we never fully appreciated the things we had back home, until we were gone. You never realize how much you enjoy playing cards with the grandparents on Friday nights, going to nephews' birthday parties, having dinner at your favorite restaurants with your favorite people or just having "So You Think You Can Dance" nights with Whit and Cherelle... until you can't do that anymore. Oh man, we can't wait to do all of those things again!!
Ok, enough about how excited we are to come home. Now I think it is time to talk about the GREAT things that happened in 2009.
Of course, my FAVORITE event of the year was Kerry and I's wedding day, June 6th 2009! It turned out absolutely perfect! There is nothing better than getting all of your friends and family together, having the man who you look up to and admire walk you down the aisle and marrying the man of your dreams. Kerry is the most amazing man I have ever met. He is by my side through the easy and the hard times and there is no one in the world that is more supportive than he is. Not only did I get an awesome man, but I also got his amazing family! Oh yeah, the honeymoon in Puerto Rico wasn't bad either. ;) I love you husband!
Next, it is funny that being away from my sister has actually made us closer, but it is so true. Shae is one of my most favorite people in the whole world. She is an amazing person and an even better mother. I love her so much and this past year we have really grown close. Even though it has been a tough year, she puts a smile on her face and finds a way to make the impossible happen. She is my inspiration and my best friend.
When Kerry and I moved out here, our "baby" Jaxon was pretty lonely. He missed his friends Jazzy, Winston and Abby a ton! So... we got him a puppy! Our little Corona Bear is the cutest, sweetest, most loving puppy ever! We are so lucky to have gotten such a sweet little girl! Even though they are dogs, they are our family and we love them very much.
Our trip home for Thanksgiving was AWESOME! We really, really needed a dose of fun with the people we love!! Sure, the drive was loooooooooong... but at least I got to experience it with my Kerbear and our puppies in our sweet new truck! Also a bonus... Cherelle's baby shower was so fun! I can't wait to meet the newest addition to our family shortly after he arrives!
And finally, to start the year off, I got an awesome job that I really enjoy. This past year I feel like I have learned a lot about the professional world and I am no longer a just-out-of-college job seeker. Yes, I may soon be a job seeker, but hopefully the last year's experience will help in the process.
2009 was a great year and there are too many things to mention in this already long blog! Let me end by saying that we are blessed to have the family and friends that we have. You guys are a great support network and we can't wait to be home and create more memories with you! Here is to looking back on a great 2009 and looking forward to an even better 2010!

We're "Home"
Hello everyone!
We are officially settling in here in Arkansas. We have an apartment and the boxes are FINALLY gone. As of today, Heather has been away from home for 1 month and 3 days and Kerry for 24 days... not that we are counting or anything. :) We sure are missing everyone back in Utah, but we like it here in Little Rock. Its a small town and we are starting to know our way around and such. The moving process was not much fun, but we are glad it is over! We like our apartment here and we live in a nice area called Chenal Valley. Don't forget, we got a two bedroom apartment in hopes that we would have some visitors every now and then!
Heather has been at her new job for 3 weeks now, and everything is going well. It is sort of a crazy time right now as our first big project is set to be introduced in 2 weeks. The people from work are very nice and we spend time with a lot of them on the weekends. Most of the people here are far from their homes too, so they are sort of in the same position as we are.
Kerry is getting pretty bored and could use some suggestions on what to do to keep busy. He just got Tiger Woods 2009 for his playstation yesterday, and he has already almost beat the game. ;) We are looking forward to warm whether so we can go golf (or pretend to in Heather's case). It is very different when you don't have friends and family you can call up and hangout with, but we are trying to adjust as best as possible. Today we are heading to one of Heather's co-workers house for a super bowl party. It will be nice to get out of the house and socialize for a bit...

Hello!
Hi Everyone!
The other day I was told we needed to set up a blog to make it easier to communicate with everyone back home... so here it is. We are here in Arkansas now and everything is going good so far. We are bored out of our minds, but we are very greatful that we have everyone back home to keep us updated on what is going on back in Utah. Currently we are sitting in our hotel room watching the Sugar Bowl. GO UTES!!!! :)
So what has been up.... We found an apartment that is really cute. We signed our lease today. Now our first mission here is complete and we don't have much to do. I (Heather) went into my new office the other day. Everyone there is really nice. I think I am going to like it there. We have come to a concensus that we like it here in Little Rock. Its a small town compared to SLC, which makes it easier to learn our way around.
We hope that everyone will keep us up to date on SLC life! We love ya'll (hehe thats Arkansas talk) and we can't wait to see you soon! Remember, we got a 2 bedroom apartment so all we need now are visitors!!!!!!!
